Published 3/13/2009 in Windows Live News by Steve Sinchak with 3,788 views

Earlier this year the Windows Live Hotmail team began to roll out free POP3 and SMTP support to the world.  Yesterday they announced the rollout is completed and is now available worldwide.  Users can configure just about any mail client to retrive and send Windows Live Hotmail messages with the free POP3 and SMTP servers. Including many mobile phones.  Here is the configuration information again:

Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com
