Update on June 2, 2025: Microsoft recently released update KB5062170 , an out of band hotfix for the previously released May update for Windows 11 23H2 and 22H2 that’s been wreaking havoc for some users. This emergency update resolves the issue described below with error code 0xc0000098. If update KB5058405 is installed and isn’t causing any problems, then do not install update KB5062170 !
