When I first started using Linux, the package manager was called source code, as in you had to install everything from source. Eventually, package managers started showing up to make things exponentially easier. The first package manager I ever used was RPM on Red Hat Linux 5.2 prior to Fedora becoming a thing. Once APT hit the market, it was all over. I'd found my preferred package manager, and that would remain true for decades. That doesn't mean my package manager respect starts...
